A cookie consent banner for Shopify with proof, uptime alerts, and flat pricing. Still have a question? Email support@consentproof.app.
ConsentProof shows a customizable cookie consent banner on your storefront, pauses tracking pixels through Shopify's Customer Privacy API and Google Consent Mode v2 until a visitor consents, records every choice in an exportable log, and monitors your live store so you get an email if the banner ever stops showing. It is tooling and a paper trail; it does not give legal advice.
If you have visitors in the EU, UK, Switzerland, or several US states, you very likely do. The rules follow your shopper's location, not your business's, so a US store with European customers is still expected to ask for consent. We wrote a fuller guide in the blog. This is not legal advice; check with a professional for your specifics.
By default the banner is shown to all visitors, which is the safest setting and the one reviewers and most merchants expect. If you prefer, you can switch to an EU, UK, and Swiss-only display option in the theme editor. Either way, tracking is automatically paused only for EU, UK, and Swiss visitors until they consent, so your US analytics and ads are not dampened.
Yes. ConsentProof sets Google Consent Mode v2 defaults before any tag loads and updates them the moment a visitor chooses, so Google Analytics and Google Ads behave correctly. It gates pixels through Shopify's Customer Privacy API, which the Meta, TikTok, and other official channels respect. You do not need to touch Google Tag Manager or write code.
Shopify's native banner covers the basics. ConsentProof adds the parts merchants tend to want on top: an exportable consent log as a record of what each visitor chose, uptime monitoring that emails you if the banner stops rendering, more control over design and text, and automatic translations. You can run whichever fits you best.
Every time a visitor accepts, declines, or saves custom preferences, ConsentProof records it: the time, the decision, the categories, the region, and the page. If you are ever asked to show that you collected consent, you have a record instead of a guess. You can export it to CSV on the paid plan.
This is the problem ConsentProof was built around. A banner can silently disappear after a theme change or update, and merchants often find out weeks later. ConsentProof checks your live storefront on a schedule and emails you if it cannot find the banner, so you are not the last to know.
No. ConsentProof installs as a theme app embed, so it does not edit your theme's code, and it loads only the small amount of script needed to run the banner. Removing the app leaves nothing behind in your theme.
Yes. The banner text translates automatically across 24 languages based on the language your visitor is shopping in, so a German shopper sees German and a French shopper sees French, with no extra setup. You can also override the text yourself if you prefer your own wording.
Flat pricing with unlimited page views: no traffic tiers and no surprise bills in a busy month. The Free plan includes the banner, pixel gating, and a recent consent log. The paid plan adds full consent history, CSV export, and uptime alerts. The banner itself is never limited by your plan or your traffic. Prices are in USD.
Uninstalling is clean. Because ConsentProof runs through Shopify's theme app extension system, removing the app removes the banner without leaving leftover code in your theme. If you would also like your stored consent records deleted, email us and we will remove them.
Yes. Email support@consentproof.app and a real person (the founder) will help you, usually within a few hours. Support is available in English and German.
